Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Cricit ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Cricit iPhone app and visit cricit.app. Cricit helps recreational and competitive cricketers log matches, review scorecards, track career totals, and receive optional performance insights.

We designed Cricit around personal cricket records. We do not sell your match history, and we do not use your cricket records for third-party advertising.

2. Information we collect

Account and identity information

• Supabase authentication user identifier
• Email address supplied through Sign in with Apple when Apple provides it, which may be a personal email or an Apple private relay address
• Authentication and session information needed to keep you signed in securely

Cricket profile information

• Display name
• Optional profile photo
• Optional jersey number
• Batting hand, batting style, and batting role
• Whether you bowl, and if so bowling hand, type, and preferred phase

Match and performance information you enter

• Match date, overs per side, team, opposition, venue, and result
• Captaincy status, innings order, match importance or context, and participation
• Batting scorecard details including runs, balls, boundaries, batting position, and dismissal
• Bowling scorecard details including overs, balls, runs conceded, wickets, and role
• Fielding catches and user-entered match notes

Subscription information

• RevenueCat customer identifier
• Subscription entitlement status and available product or offering information
• Purchase and restoration status
• Subscription snapshots stored for support or operational purposes, if applicable

Apple processes payment information for App Store purchases. Cricit does not receive complete credit-card details or full Apple payment credentials.

AI insight requests

When you request an AI-powered insight, relevant cricket records may be sent through an authenticated Supabase Edge Function to OpenAI to generate the analysis you asked for. This happens server-side. No OpenAI private key is included in the app.

Support and account deletion information

• Account-deletion request date
• Optional reason you supply when requesting deletion
• Support emails and information you voluntarily provide to hello@cricit.app

Information we do not currently collect

Cricit does not currently collect:

• Precise location
• Contacts or address book data
• Health data
• Advertising identifiers
• Cross-app tracking data
• Data for third-party advertising
• Data for sale to data brokers

Because we collect account, profile, match, subscription, and support information described above, we do not claim that Cricit collects no personal data.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions
• Synchronize your personal cricket record across your signed-in devices
• Display profile, match history, scorecards, and career statistics
• Generate insights you request
• Manage premium access and subscription entitlements
• Process account-deletion requests
• Diagnose failures, respond to support requests, and protect the service from abuse

4. Service providers and data processing

We use trusted service providers to operate Cricit:

• Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, and in-app purchases
• Supabase — authentication, database, storage, and Edge Functions
• RevenueCat — subscription entitlement and purchase-status management
• OpenAI — generating requested AI insights server-side

These providers process information on our behalf according to their own terms, privacy policies, and contractual safeguards.

5. AI-powered insights

AI output is generated from cricket records you have logged and is intended to be informational. Insights may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are not professional coaching, medical, legal, or financial advice, and they do not guarantee improved performance.

We do not claim that OpenAI never retains data unless that has been verified under the applicable account settings and contract in place at the time of processing.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat helps Cricit determine whether your account has an active entitlement. Current products, durations, and prices are shown inside the app and may vary by storefront.

Deleting your Cricit account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions at Apple Account subscriptions.

7. Data storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access and user-scoped database controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Retention

We retain your account and profile information, match history, and subscription status as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete this data within our standard deletion timeline.

9. Your choices and rights

You can review and edit match records inside Cricit. You can update profile information in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your information.

10. Account deletion

You can initiate deletion inside Cricit through Profile > Settings > Delete Account. After a confirmed deletion request, we expect profile information, match records, scorecards, requested insights associated with your account, and uploaded profile photos to be removed from active Cricit systems, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.

We aim to complete deletion of your data from our active systems within 30 days of your request. Backup copies of database records may persist for up to 90 days before they are fully overwritten.

Deleting your Cricit account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage subscriptions at Apple Account subscriptions.

11. Children

Cricit is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. International processing

Cricit and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those providers apply their own safeguards for cross-border processing. We do not represent a specific legal transfer mechanism unless counsel has confirmed one for your jurisdictions.

13. This website (cricit.app)

The version 1 Cricit website is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or form submissions. If analytics or similar technologies are added later, this policy will be updated before deployment.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date below.
